AGEMERA joins MINEXCHANGE once again
One of our colleagues attended this year's event to present a paper on the work we've been doing in AGEMERA to raise awareness of critical raw materials and engage the community
No distance is too big for our team when it comes to boasting presenting our work to peers in the mining
and mineral exploration sector! This time, we went back to Denver, Colorado, in the United States, to once again
participate in the MINEXCHANGE event, that brings together leaders and experts from the industry to network and discuss
crucial topics in mining, such as the innovative technologies that have been coming up to revolutionise the field, and
good practices in making mining less disruptive to the environment.
Our colleague Ariful from TU Bergakademie Freiberg presented a paper with the title "Empowering Community Engagements: Knowledge and Sustainable Management of Critical Raw Materials". This paper details the work we've done in AGEMERA to get closer to local communities and the general public, either through the questionnaires we launched in four countries (Estonia, Germany, Poland, and Zambia) that received 1068 responses in total, or through the university courses we now have running at TU Bergakademie Freiberg and TalTech, that gathered participants from more than 25 nations. All of this collected data provide invaluable insight into locals' perception of mining activities and more, insights that will guide us further in our efforts to advocate for responsible mining.
If curious, you can read more about the event on their official page.
