Unlocking Zambia's critical raw material potential
UNZA conducts geological trip around the country to identify potential sites for exploration
Exciting updates from our partner in Africa! Our colleagues at the University of Zambia (UNZA) have recently embarked on a 10-day reconnaissance trip around Zambia. Their mission? To identify potential sites for future geological and geophysical work.
The highlight of the trip was a visit to a manganese mine in the Luapula province. Manganese is a critical raw material that is vital to industries such as manufacturing, construction, transportation, textiles, and medical. What did the UNZA team learn from this trip? Exploring the manganese mine provided invaluable insight into the geological composition and potential of the area, setting the stage for future scientific endeavours. Not to mention how amazing it was to witness firsthand the rich mineral resources that Zambia posseses!
A heartfelt "Thank you!" to our colleagues for their work - stay tuned for more updates in the upcoming months!
